Review of “Corvus” a poem penned by esteemed poetess Chua Bagchi Mitra ji

Your poem focuses on the superstitious beliefs of the people. Fear of vulnerable animals or birds if unaccompanied by mythical practices, we can rescue ourselves from inevitable circumstances . But illogical pre-occupations agitate awfully. A sneeze that stops from going ahead, black cat’s appearance that turns one dubious, sight of widow that displeases irrational minds are some of the superstitious beliefs which need straight away awareness. Your poem identifies dominant fear of obsessed minds. It’s not the dead who we ought to be afraid of but perilous thoughtless creatures (man)on earth. It’s not darkness that perturbs but beliefs. The poetess’ intellectual write spotting the unscientific moral conviction is commendable.

Kudos to you dear poetess for composing such a poem deleneating sensitive oblivious mindsets of the society.

Corvus

It’s scary, when in moonlit night
You see them waiting for Something silently.

They are very clever, and said to be
The departed soul, take their form.
Till all rituals are over….

They have a close relation with death.
It’s really scary to see them at night
In a moonlit night.
