PRIDE

Pride dubiously posed a query
“Ain’t I worth being applauded, dearie? “

So innocent was its approach
Which of course did my heart touch

So I did ask my philosophical mind,
“Didn’t you ever use “pride” as your magic wand?”

My thought, thought and thought for long
Then it did respond, ” Yeah! Indeed I did sing this pride song,

Many a times to lift your spirits,
Many a times to support your afforts.”

Proud of my pride that helped me grow
Proud of my pride that made me know
the way to respect self, the way to sow
seeds of progress in the field to plow
Crop of success yielding gratitude to bow
before the altars of God!
