Long sleep

It’s been years since I saw you last
You’d come at least once
In three years, promising marital life
In the next visit at each of your visit
But this time you didn’t
You didn’t turn up for long

Enthralled my awaits tired
Hopes mine flew like kites
Broken thread of trust
Cried on its death

But you talk as if nothing happened
You speak as we have nothing to talk about
You’ve changed a lot as we did in appearances
But what you couldn’t assess is,
I am still the same as you left years ago…

Wish I could let you recall those days
Days of our promising love
Days of echoing laughter
But , alas! I can’t as you’re happy with self

For I am happy to see your smiles pure
The frown of years is vanished in time’s cure
I could sense your peace of mind
I could read your heart beat rhyme

I prefer to be with the pain of parting from you
I prefer to see you surrounded by smiles
I am happy to know that you are happy
Till I had seen you, I couldn’t realise,
That my happiness is in your smile
Not in the love you shower for me!!

I’ve locked your smiling face in my eyes
I’ve determined to sleep for an indefinite period
For I can’t let you go afar! You and I in my eyes
Forever together…. Forever together….in my sleep.
